Chief's customized UPC Series Mount offers the best-looking and most functional installation possible for projectors that must be mounted upright in the ceiling. Each UPC Mount includes a bracket that is custom designed to fit the contour of your projector, giving you the lowest profile support possible. Flush Mount to suitable ceilings using the four corner slots in top of the UPC mount (Hardware not included) 2. 1/4" Threaded Rod using the four corner slots in the top of the UPC mount (Threaded Rod not included) 3. 1 1/2" NPT Threaded Extension Column using the threaded opening at the top of the UPC mount. (Threaded Extension Column not included.) FAQs COMMON TO UPC SERIES Q. How do I know I need a UPC mount rather than an RPA mount? A. Chief’s cross-reference chart identifies non invertible projectors that require a UPC mount. Q. Do I have to order the SLB bracket separately? A. No, the assembly ships complete when you order a UPC ceiling mount. The SLB0UPC bracket as a separate part number is used only for Chief SMART- LIFTS™. One UPC part number includes both the universal top and SLB bracket. Q. How much assembly is required? A. None. Just attach the SLB bracket to your projector. Q. How much height will it add to my installation? A. The UPC will add approximately 1 3/4"–2". Q. Do I need any additional accessories to install the UPC? A. The UPC can be flush mounted to the ceiling without any additional accessories for a low-profile, simple installation. However, often times you will need to lower the projector from a structural, finished or suspended ceiling. For these common applications, you will want to order the appropriate accessories. Q. How much weight does the mount hold? A. Each mount is custom designed to support the weight of the projector models specified. However, your ceiling must hold at least 5x the total weight of your installation. Q. If I use the UPC with a Suspended Ceiling Kit, do I need an extension column? A. Yes. Any length 1 1/2" NPT threaded extension column will work with Chief’s Suspended Ceiling Kits. Q. Does the UPC Series fit in the Smart-Lift™ Electric Ceiling Lifts? A. The UPC Series will not fit in the SL-150. The UPC-12, UPC-13, UPC-14 will fit into the SL-236. You must verify your projector dimensions will fit the maximum equipment size of the lift.
